The ribbon cutting ceremony for the new Gormley GO Station located at 6 Newkirk Drive ( Stouffville Road and Highway 404) took place on November 24, 2016. The new station is scheduled to open on December 5th.

Richmond Hill ‘s first Santa Claus Parade at night was amazing! Lots of kids brought their parents and everyone – I said everyone – said, Merry Christmas!! Parking and traffic was the usual mess but if you Keep Calm and Be Nice, then you’re still on Santa’s good list.

Remembrance Day
It was a brisk but sunny day November 11 at 11:00 am 2016. We gathered as we always do at the Richmond Hill cenotaph on Yonge St. for the Legion’s remembrance ceremony. Such a beautiful service. This year our Legion President and his wife are retiring and moving out of Town. Julian and Mary, my friends for many years, you will truly be missed.

A Press Conference was held in partnership with the Moon Festival Organizing Committee , chaired by President, Daisy Wai and the York Region District School Board’s Inclusive School and Community Services. The results of the Moon Festival Art Contest were announced. The real MOON FESTIVAL will be held on Monday, September 8th at the Richmond Hill Christian Comunity Church (9670 Bayview Ave. at Weldrick Rd.) starting at 6:00 p.m..
