Crime Prevention in York Region

Building strong, connected, safe communities is not a job just for the police. Every resident, business, and community organization plays a part in preventing crime.

York Regional Police host regular meetings at the Region of York Administrative Centre on Yonge St. in Newmarket. These meetings are open to the public and are extremely helpful to members of Council who can educate themselves about police work for our community.

In April of this year, I attended a police presentation about the Social Media Revolution! They convinced me that Social Media is, “Not a fad – It is a fundamental shift in the way we communicate!” And so, I work at mastering my new honed skills. Staying connected as a community makes us stronger, better informed, and better equipped to prevent crime.
